Mr. David Shikfu Parradang mni, was born on 6th of
September 1959 in Pankshin, Plateau State. He holds a
Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Jos and a
Masters Degree in Public Administration from University of
Lagos. He is also an Alumnus of the Prestigious National
Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos,
Plateau State.
He joined the Nigeria Immigration Service in 1982 as an
Assistant Superintendent of Immigration. The Comptroller
General has vast experience in immigration duties having
served at Kano State Command, Kwara State Command,
Enugu State Command, Murtala Mohammed International
Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, Diplomatic Desk in Lagos and
Passport office, Ikeja, Lagos. He was also the Special
Assistant to two previous Comptrollers General of
Immigration, Uzoamaka Nwizu and Chukwurah Udeh.
Before his appointment by President Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan GCFR, he was the Assistant Comptroller General
State Co-ordination in the Directorate of Operations/
Passport at the Service Headquarters.
Mr. David Parradang is happily married with Children and
enjoys playing golf.
NIS TO DEPLOY CUTTING-EDGE IT TOOLS IN ITS
OPERATIONS
The Comptroller General of Immigration, David Parradang
on Thursday 13th June, 2013 while addressing his officers
and men at his maiden CGI’s parade at the Service
Headquarters in Abuja said that his administration will
“rely on cutting edge technologies that are practicable n
our environment to transform the Nigeria Immigration
Service”. He promised that the technologies will not be
substandard but will be sustainable and well tailored to the
challenges and needs in migration management.
“YES WE CAN” - CGI
Being conscious of the role of the NIS in the security
matrix of the nation, the Comptroller General of
Immigration, David Parradang has stated that his Service
“will work with other security organs to manage and solve
Nigeria’s peculiar security challenges. He made this
known in his maiden address to officers and man at the
NIS headquarters in Abuja on the 13th of June, 2013. The
CGI called on all officers to come together, remain focused,
imbibe discipline, be incorruptible and conform to global
best practices adding that under his watch, NIS staff will be
well motivated, well provided for, standing shoulder-to-
shoulder with any immigration official all over the world.
